Teacher Claudette

Claudette has taken the Early Childhood Development Program at Grant MacEwan College.  She feels confident that she has the knowledge to support a child's physical and intellectual development through hands on experiences.

Before working at the preschool, Claudette worked with school aged children in after-school care.  While in school, she completed her field placements at daycares, preschools and at an Early Headstart program.  During these field placements, she has learned how to observe children, from different ages, on their motor, cognitive, language and social/emotional developments.  This technique has helped her establish ways to support each child’s development, with what they do best, and that is through their play!  Claudette feels that through collaborative play, children are able to develop important social, physical, emotional and intellectual skills in ways that are fun and rewarding.

Claudette enjoys quality time with her son and husband.  With her free time she loves going on family outings such as walks, swimming, and picnics.  She also likes shopping, going to the movies, and mountain getaways during the winter.

Claudette loves working with children, especially preschoolers.  She finds it rewarding to have the opportunity to watch children explore the world around them.  Claudette is returning to Greenfield Community Nursery School for her third year.  She is looking forward to working with Teacher Sheryll to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment for the children.
